A successful business intelligence initiative begins with a clearly articulated strategy. The right strategy closely aligns business intelligence initiatives with the organization's goals and gives the project a solid foundation. This ensures that stakeholder expectations are managed properly across the organization and project scope, timing and cost can be managed appropriately from the beginning.
Using Project Management Institute (PMI) standards, Chateaux follows a precisely defined project management methodology that clearly defines your project strategy and effectively maps out your project deliverables on time and on budget. Some of the tasks we perform as we help map out your BI strategy include:
- Define the scope of your BI initiative, short and long term, using our proprietary PPP methodology: people (stakeholders), parts (technology) and process
- Map your current (AS IS) state, including existing tools and technologies, corporate standards, hardware, software, data and network architecture
- Map your future (TO BE) state, including new tools and technologies tied to incipient hardware, software, data and network architecture
- Perform a gap analysis between the AS IS and TO BE states
- Create a BI Strategy Roadmap that provides the new architecture as well as the resources, effort and timelines required to deliver the future state to the stakeholders
The strategy document that we will create with you becomes your blueprint, and with this blueprint you will be able to start moving forward with your deployment.
